PROJECTIntroduction [Biosketch]
- B. Tech (University of Burdwan), M. E. (Jadavpur University), Ph. D (NIT Silchar) Mr. Wasim Arif received the B.E degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Burdwan (first class first in ECE) , M. E. from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Jadavpur University and PhD degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Silchar. I worked as Lecturer in ECE in BIET Suri from 2003 to 2008 and as Sr. Lecturer in the same institute from 2008 to 2010. I joined NIT Silchar as an Assistant Professor in ECE in 2010. Presently I am working as an Associate Professor in the department. I have received some projects from MeitY, DHE, DST and NRDC. I have collaboration with IIT Kharagpur on several research projects. I have supervised 08 PhD scholars who are successfully working in their professional lives. Apart form my research interests I worked on various projects with students on diverse field of technology and happy to bring laurels for the institute in several national level competitions like Smart India Hackathon (3 times Gold Medal winners)etc. A IEEE Senior Member and nominated as Vice-Chair (2025), Secretary IEEE ComSoc Kolkata Chapter (2022-24), Secretary IEEE TEMS Kolkata Chapter. I like to play cricket and badminton and had the opportunity to Captain the institute Faculty and Staff cricket and badminton team in All India Inter NIT Tournaments. I love to interact with students and socialising with people around.

- 5G/ 6G Wireless Communications, Resource allocation, AI in wireless communications, IRS aided/UAV aided communications, microwave sensing for biomedical applications, quantum optimization and NTN communication.
